We offer 2 programs to earn your DNP – Post-Bachelor’s DNP and Post-Master’s DNP. Explore both options below.

Post-Bachelor’s DNP

The Nursing Administrative Leadership (Online) concentration is designed for students with a BSN, BS or BA and an RN license who want to return for their DNP.

This program is designed for students with a master's degree and an RN license who want to return for their DNP to advance their knowledge.

Achievable for the working nurse – online format.

What are the requirements to apply for a Post-Bachelor's DNP?
A BSN degree from an accredited college or university. Options are available for RNs with a BA or BS in another field.

Current RN license.

1 year of work as a Registered Nurse or in a closely related health care field.

No GRE or GMAT required.

Personal interview for select applicants.
How long is the Post-Bachelor's DNP program?
The UNM College of Nursing offers a 2-year and 9-month post-baccalaureate Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.
Are there funding opportunities available for students of the Post-Bachelor's DNP Program?

Yes, scholarship and grant dollars are available.

Is the Post-Bachelor's DNP available online?

Yes! The online Post-Bachelor’s DNP program is designed for you as a working professional. You will learn to work collaboratively with other health care professionals and leaders to improve health outcomes and health systems.

What are the requirements to apply for a Post-Master's DNP?
Post-Master's DNP applicants are required to have:

An MSN degree from an accredited college or university or a BSN and a master's degree in a related field (MBA, MPA, MPH, MSA)

A current RN license. No GRE or GMAT is required. 

Personal interview for select applicants.
How long is the Post-Master's DNP program?
The Post-Master's DNP program aims to provide you with the education you need to make a difference in two years.
Are there funding opportunities available for Post-Master's DNP students?
